Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC has turned into production a new exploration well on the Shoseyna area in the Kharkiv region, which produces 200 tcm of gas per day.
The Shoseyna area is a promising area with reserves of more than 3 bcm of gas, the exploration of which is underway. The new well once again confirmed the high potential of the area. Now it is planned to convert it from Greenfield to Brownfield.
"Our priority is increasing reserves from new blocks. Shoseyna area is one of the top 10 the most promising greenfields in our portfolio, which we pay special attention to. We have assigned a multi-functional team to each of these areas and are intensifying modern field surveys. This approach will enable us to add up to 40 bcm of gas in these areas," Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Deputy Director of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division for exploration and development, said.
TD of the new Shoseyna well is 4150 m. To increase the indicators, Naftogaz specialists performed a hydraulic fracturing operation, after which the flow rate reached more than 200 tcm of gas per day.
Since 2014, when the company obtained a licence for the Shoseyna block, 10 wells have already been drilled on it, from which 253 mcm of gas have been produced. It borders the Zakhidno-Sosnivske field, the prospects of which have already been proven earlier.
